Customer Review: This was a wonderful book that took me through a practice of a dedicated surgeon. I have to say that I enjoyed how he had us travel with him through each case, some quick and some long with all the different clients woven in. As someone who has sat in the waiting room at the MSPCA it is amazing how many people and pets come and go through there. I was happy to read a behind the scenes book of someone who truly cares and knows the happiness and heartbreak of pet companionship. This book truly does explain the many levels of vet service.

Customer Review: My 10-year old loves this book. Some of the words and subject matter are too mature for her level of reading. But, she skips over the parts she doesn't understand. She thoroughly enjoys the book. She wants to become a veterinarian-so this book helps her imagine what it is like. I gave her 3 or 4 veterinarian books for Christmas-but this is the one she has commented about the most.

by Claudia L. Osborn
Amazon Price: $12.23
Customer Review: Claudia's story is a well-wriiten easy read of a young woman's journey toward recovery from a TBI. I have studied TBI in graduate school, but this story brought the TBI research to life. A first hand look at a devastating injury that is the leading cause of death for those under 35 years old and many in the military. TBI is rapidly becoming a much more common injury and is rated a high priority by WHO. This book is an enjoyable way to learn about this prevalent injury in a quick and interesting read.

Customer Review: This book had me anywhere from tears to rolling laughing. The only problem I had with the book is if he trying to follow his years of EMS I had a hard time following. He seems to jump around the years back and forth. The stories were great and I could relate to many of them. I just wish I could have followed his life timeline a little easier!

by Joan Rivers, Valerie Frankel
Amazon Price: $10.20
Customer Review: Joan River's book is everything you want to know about almost every kind of plastic surgery/non surgical procedure, from how to choose a good doctor to what each procedure is called, what it's supposed to improve, and what the risks can be. She delivers all the information with her usual sense of humor.
You will like this book if you: Enjoy Joan River's comedic style; are wanting a starting place for finding out about the many beauty/anti-aging procedures out there; you like reading about the work (good and bad) that several celebrities have had.

by James P. Othmer
Amazon Price: $17.79
Customer Review: This guy seems to regret his entire career working in large advertising agencies on accounts many would love to have experience with. In the final pages he assumes a reporters hat and does a very good job of investigating the direction of today's and tomorrow's media consumption and how it is and will be used. If you are a real fan of advertising you might find it interesting but better to spend money and time with the likes of Godin and Gladwell fo insights into tomorrow's media.

by Daniel Asa Rose
Amazon Price: $17.15
Customer Review: What a surprise! I wasn't expecting the story that unfolded, but I knew from the first pages I was going to be entertained. And I was. And this is coming from a guy who generally does NOT read fiction. But it wasn't. And that's what I loved about Mr. Rose's saga. I knew the story was real, Daniel was real, LARRY was real, Larry's mail-order bride was real; and having invested in their welfare, I had to find out what happened to them. Life is unpredictable, and consequently, I had no idea where the journey would lead me. So I didn't try predicting it. Ultimately, I was not disappointed.

by Patch Adams M.D.
Amazon Price: $11.21
Customer Review: Gesundheit! Is the story of Hunter "Patch" Adams and his struggle for healthcare reform and alternative health solutions. The book is a very easy read and much of the problem is stated so that the layperson can understand the problems with the medical care system, as it exists today. It also goes one step further than most by offering a solution to the problem. Under the idea of "friendliness" Patch and his group of Clowns have helped treat over 15,000 patients and have spent the last few years fun(d) raising to build a hospital on the Gesundheit Land in West Virginia. The book doesn't do the land or the project justice [...]

Customer Review: Blood, Sweat and Tea is a book based on the blog "Random Acts of Reality" by a London, UK, based emergency medical technician (EMT), Tom Reynolds (a pseudonym, Tom has now revealed himself to be Brian Kellett). I'm an occasional visitor to Reynold's blog and always found him to be interesting, honest and well worth reading. This first book (there is now a second book called More Blood, More Sweat and Another Cup of Tea) is a collection of some of Reynolds favourite posts from his blog, published in 2006.
While it is obviously a book of blog postings, it does hang together as a coherent collection and is very readable. I could spend much longer reading his posts in this format...
